After a crazy and long weekend, things settled back into a relatively normal schedule.  Tae went back to school on Thursday and I went back to going to bed early and getting up early.  I like life with a schedule though, I am a little bit of a control freak.  We got a package from Momma!  Thank you thank you, Mom!  We love packages, but this one had something special in it.  A Camera!!  So I have pictures!!  I guess it was in her best interest to make sure I had a camera, so she could have pictures of her grandbabies.  Here is the first picture I took.  This is how Lavar feeds Eli... And yes, Eli is wearing his Bruins shirt.  Represent!

Look at those chunky legs!  (Eli's, not Lavar! haha)

Lavar had another home game on Saturday.  They lost.  Again.  Ugh it has been a rough last couple of games and Lavar is playing well, but his team needs to actually win.  It is a whole new ball game when the game is your job. I mean when he lost in college, it was like 'Ya, that's a bummer.  Okay, let's go out!"  Now it's like "Oh man, how were your stats?  What is the team's rank?  We have got to win the next one to be here.  How will this affect his contract next year."  I don't particularly like it, but Var is living the dream.  So you live it Baby!!

Tae and his best (and only) friend, Etienne.  They listen to the huddles during the guys timeouts.

Um, so cute.

I can't stop taking pictures of him!

Those lips and cheeks!  Funny boy!
By the way, little side not.  I have to give Tae a lot more credit.  The kid is smart.  His French is improving.  He is already counting to 7, can say 'hello' 'goodbye' 'thank you' 'you're welcome' 'my name is Tae' 'mouth' 'book' and many more.  He picks up French words when people say them, sometimes.  He is doing really well.  I think it will happen faster than I will even know.  He just can't be taught French.  (Because that would mean that he doesn't know something.  Oh no, that could not be true!)

As for me, my little French update.  After church yesterday, we were eating lunch at the missionary's house.  There was another couple there who are getting married this coming summer.  They are both French.  She offered to tutor me, but only if we speak entirely in French.  Super! That got me so excited.  Then there was another friend I met, also at church, who is an American studying at the university.  She suggested that I take a grammer course at the college.  I have never actually taken a French class, so I would LOVE to.  So Lavar and I talked about it and we are going to make it happen!!  It is every morning for 3 hours and I don'tt hink I have do that, but maybe 3 days a week.  That is what we are shooting for.  Nothing is set in stone for that, but in the works.  So I am excited and hopefully this will help me make some progress!! LOVE IT!!

IT'S GAME DAY, BABY!!

This is the mascot of the last away game we went to.  Tae and I were cracking up because we couldn't really tell what the heck he was?!  A cat?  A bear?  A bear-bird?  He looked like he had a beak... lol

Tonight Lavar has a game at 8:00 our time, 11:00 California time and 2:00 Bahamas time.  I wish somehow you could tune it, but I am going to try to take some video of the game to post it here after.

They need to keep winning and Lavar needs to have a bang-up game.  Well every game he needs that, but one game at a time.  The boys and I will be cheering him on from the sidelines, yelling at the refs in English!!

ALLEZ VERTS!

Quimper vs Brest

One of the most hyped up games of the year for the guys is Quimper vs Brest. Quimper is a city nearby and I guess there is a kind of rival between the towns. So the game is huge. It was packed. A lot of Brest, fans came too. So me, Tae, Jinessa, Tyra, and one of the other girlfriends Leila decided to drive to the game. My camera battery was dying so I didn't get a lot of pictures, but here are the few I got. Of Tae and our car. Above is the coaches daughter, Edell. She is the one that was making Tae laugh so hard in the video. Tae is getting very independant. He wanted to crawl everywhere. I had to pull him back to where we were sitting a number of times. As you can see in the background all of the fans that were there. And to the right are where the handicap sit. Tae also wanted to climb on their wheelchairs... haha I caught him before he could get there though. They had little pom-pom girls that go and "cheer" during breaks. Well, Tae really liked their pom-poms. It was funny, I mean look at them of course he thought they were interesting!

Unfortunately, I don't have any actual pictures of the game, I kept thinking my camera was going to die. But when we went out to our car we had an unpleasant surprise waiting for us. In France, there are very few rules about parking. You can park either way on a street, no matter what way side of the street is going. You can park on the grass, on the sidewalk, pretty much anywhere, although we have gotten a few tickets. Anyway, since the game was packed there were no more regular parking spots left so we had to park under a tree on the grass. It actually wasn't that bad of a spot so I thought, great! Then when we came back from the game this is what we found...

And then of course, anotehr one of Tae. He fell asleep in the car on the way home, so cute.

Go Brest!!

I don't want to get excited prematurely, but Lavar's team, l'etenard, Brest, has been playing very well!! Brest is tied for first place in the league with two other teams!! This is exciting because they have been playing well, and Lavar hasn't even been playing. His replacement is HUGE! He is a monster, they actually call him predator. haha Tae cried when he said hi to him! Anyway, he isn't as good as Lavar. He is a big body out there but not that skilled or as quick as Lavar. He played football in college, so he is used to hitting people. Really nice guy though. He looks like Anthony Basaba if any of you knew him. So it is good news, the guys are doing good.
Lavar's knee is doing better. He is still in training and rehab. He can start shooting in a week so we will be in the gym a lot. Him shooting, me rebounding, and Tae being a good little boy playing on the sidelines! Just a little update. If you want to follow the games or Lavar when he starts playing which is the first week in November, you can check out http://www.lnb.fr/. It is in French, but you can probably figure it out. Click on Calendrier/Resultats for his games and the results and classement for what place they are in and joueurs for the players. You can look up Lavar and a little profile too. But, once again, it is all in French!
Thanks for the prayers and e-mails! We really appreciate it! Don't worry the camera is coming soon. God Bless!
